Tagged: FloJack Mini, Front Read
Hello,
I need to be able to write an NFC tag putting it on the display of the tablet (so on the front), instead of on the back.
I wanted to know if using a FloJack Mini sticked on the back of the tablet with BandAid the range would be strengthened enough to write the tag on the display, or if there is another way to achieve this.
Thank you!
Hello Marco, I don’t believe you can achieve what you want. To read on the front of the tablet, you will need the FloJack Mini attached to the side of the display. We are making plastic cases for the Nexus 7 that allow for this. In order to have the screen itself read a tag you would have to take the tablet apart and splice a new antenna from the NFC reader module into the LCD panel up close to the surface of the glass. Only then can you avoid the interference from the tablet motherboard. This interference is what prevents the antenna mounted in the back of the device to read tags placed in front.
