Hi Support,
I understand that the basic SDK requires a constant connection to the internet while the Pro allows offline usage but my question is, is this $150 for the pro a one off fee or per reader?
Hi, the Flomio SDK (Basic and Pro) is licensed on a per reader basis so you’d be able to use it across all iOS hosts but only with one FloJack/ACR35 reader. The issue with the Pro version is that since we don’t check our backend license database each time it’s used, we need to hardcode the reader device ID into each Flomio SDK library build. On your end, this can present a problem since you’ll need a particular SDK for the reader you have plugged in for it to work. The only way around that is to order all your FloJack/ACR35s at the same time so that we can bundle all the device IDs into the SDK we provide you. This is how we’ve managed this requirement with other enterprise customers.
If you’ve already ordered and received a FloJack or ACR35 you can upgrade to the Pro version of the Flomio SDK by following the instructions for upgrading to the Basic Flomio SDK but simply submitting the balance due via PayPal. That would be $125.01 if upgrading from a FloJack Basic or $150 if upgrading from an ACR35. I’ll bake your device ID into the SDK library and send it to you via a Dropbox link. Once you add more devices later we will be able to update you’re particular SDK library build so that all your previously deployed readers will continue to work.
Lastly, I’ll point out that Pro versions of the Flomio SDK are entitled to Basic license as well, so all the apps from Flomio or other 3rd parties that work with the Basic SDK will work just as well for Pro licensed readers.
thanks,
Richard
