Hi,
I purchased the device back in March and just now have had the chance to start working on it – goal is integration into a custom iOS app. I upgraded firmware following these instructions:Battery appears to be fully charged (yellow light turned on briefly, beeps and flashes red, then goes dark).
However when I connect to my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.3) I get a single beep – no light. Then when I open the ACS MobileMate app as the getting started instructions say to do, the app spins for a few seconds, gives me a headphone mute popup, and an alert saying “Error – the reader is not responding”. When I unplug the reader I get a “Warning: Reader removed. Please connect ACR3x Reader” alert.
Any insight into what is going on? Want to make sure the hardware at least connects to my device before moving on to SDK work.
Thanks!
BobbyAugust 2, 2016 at 6:13 pm #56132Hey Bobby, ACS MobileMate is not compatible with the FloJack BZR. You’ll need the Flomio Test app for that. I will send you a TestFlight invite for that now. Once launched the app is pretty straight forward but if you have questions post them here.

Thanks for the really quick response !
The app works, which at least confirms the BZR is operational. But it seems to need about 50 seconds before reads until it can detect a new tag. Does that seem right? We’ve previously had a Flomio MSR which could detect tags almost instantly.
Cheers

October 27, 2016 at 8:27 pm #5710450 seconds is not right. Worst case it should take 3 secs between consecutive tag scans on the BZR. What version SDK are you using?? Send me following details so I can log an issue against this:
SDK v2.1 (10)??
OS: ios (v.10.0.2)??
Device: iPhone 6??
Reproducibility: Consistent??October 27, 2016 at 8:36 pm #57105I’m not using the SDK. I had previously used the SDK to build an app, using the MSR and Cordova. All good. Then we bought this BZR for another deployment which we plugged in and expected to just work, but it did not. Nor did ACS MobileMate.
So I went into problem determination mode, the first step of which was to update the firmware then ask you for access to the test app.
So I’m running an iPhone 6s, iOS 10.0.2 and your testflight app. Reproduceability seems consistent.
Our scenario is that we don’t read or write data, we’re just detecting the UUIDs.
Thanks

October 27, 2016 at 9:16 pm #57106Not sure if there’s something wrong with your handset or the reader. I’ve just tested a stock BZR on an iPhone6s with iOS 10.0.2 and got expected results:
I would power cycle your iPhone, make sure your Headphone volume is all the way up (this sometimes requires plug/unplug jack while pressing the up volume button), and make sure your BZR is full charged.
I did observe some weird behavior with Siri and iTunes playing songs when disconnecting the BZR so not sure if that’s an issue introduced with the latest version of iOS. Audio jack is the worst interface for this stuff so if you’re able to upgrade to the FloBLE Plus or EMV, I would definitely recommend it.
best,
