Hello,
I got the new 2.1 Pro SDK today and really like the new layout, thank you.
My question is with the BZR I am having mixed luck reading NDEF data records. Should this work reliably? Is it a requirement to update the firmware on the devices to 1.35 posted on the site?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Dustin
Hey Dustin, thanks for the feedback. Reading of NDEF on the BZR is not reliable just yet and will require the 1.35 firmware update. More info on the topic here. I’ll ping Scott who’s been working on this feature so he can give you an update on where things are.
best,
Richard
Hey Richard,
Thank you for the prompt reply. Anything you can do to see where Scott is on that would be great.
I updated the firmware to 1.35 and while it is better, it still isn’t working.
We would really like to use the BZR devices, but if we can’t get those working what is a low cost option for reading NDEF data. We will not need to be doing any writing.
Thanks Again,
Dustin
Hey Dustin, our most dependable reader for reading NDEF is the FloBLE Plus. Also worth mentioning is that our NDEF parser only supports URL types at the moment, we are working towards full coverage but simply a priority problem.
best,
Richard
Hi Dustin,
I’ll just need to ask you a few questions to understand the issue better. What tags are you using? What type of NDEF message are you trying to read?
Does it just not read the data sometimes or what is the issue more specifically?
I will try replicate the issue here and try find a fix.
Cheers,
Scott
Also, I would suggest trying initializing the reader with a scan period of 2000. This will likely make the ndef reading to be more reliable.
