Hi Richard, Flomies
So I’m quite excited about using NFC on my device which didnt have it before (already told some buddies about it and told them that in about 1 week, they’ll get to see some “cool” stuff); but my excitement seems to have become shortlived after navigating through your website and finding your forums where lots of people are asking about “Order status”.
Question1: Fulfilment seems to be a HUGE concern; you mentioned HERE that there are AT LEAST 1,000 orders/products to be fulfilled, and at a rate of ONLY 30 products fulfilled per day which is your current rate as you said HERE, that would mean that before you reach/pass the 1000th-product-order, that would be AT LEAST 33 to 34 DAYS away from today? (i.e. 30 products/day [x] 34 days = 1,020 products; the “AT LEAST 1,000” basically). That’s quite low/slow. Would that be somewhat a close “guesstimate”?
Question2: I also imagine that the “days” are probably BUSINESS DAYS, so technically 34 days would be 7 WEEKS away! That’s scary! Should we (I and other customers) be concerned? What are you guys doing about the issue you said that “…orders are shipping but at a much slower pace than expected…“?
When I purchased/ordered (Order # 4378), I actually thought my products would arrive in a week or so (it looks like a product that is fully ready and already shipping in large quantities but that doesnt seem to be the case?). As your “customers” (and excited ones too) we need some kind of assurance as to when we will get/receive the product.
I think a huge production ramp-up is needed (even if temporary contractors/hands). Dont be surprised if bigger orders start coming in within the next few days, because word of mouth is powerful (I mean, I already told my buddies, and I imagine other customers have probably done the same, and some of the “buddies” are already looking to get for themselves too, but I think they wont feel excited when, like me, they realize this may not be coming anytime soon, which is how its currently looking, and that will prevent orders).
Help us stay excited.
Thanks guys. Nice product!
August 22, 2013 at 2:04 pm #4501Hi Richard, Flomies,
Just saw posts from you guys on your blog about stop ship issues, and also that now your case supplier has failed you (so no more cases for the meantime basically, which will only make the fulfillment and delays worse).
After some thinking, I’ve decided that “Half is better than none”, so I also saw that you guys have some case which were either “made by a 3D printer” (and so are either transparent or weren’t intended to be used originally) OR “were made through the normal case manufacturing process, but all the spaces/corners didn’t fit perfectly”. I am fine with you sending out just ONE of the product in my order with ANY of those cases. (They look OKAY overall, just that either they were printed with the 3D machine, or just has some small spaces, but I’m fine with getting ONE in that form so that at least I can begin using it; I imagine the case will NOT interfere with the functionality in anyway, its just a “presentation/good-look” thing, so I’m okay with managing the ONE in that form for now).
So, please go ahead and ship out JUST ONE out of my order (Order # 4378) to me in any of those available cases, and then you can fulfill the remainder later when you guys sort out the issues and start getting the fresh-cases.
Thanks.
August 23, 2013 at 10:00 am #4506Hi Richard.
I am looking forward FloJack to arrive.
I can wait still. However, if the module can operate without case, I want to use it in the temporary assembly.
I think I would like to make a case with epoxy resin and acrylic plate.
Is it possible to ship FloJack without case ?
(Order#1722)August 23, 2013 at 11:05 pm #4508Hey guys, thanks for the questions and the willingness to work with what we have in our supplier-impaired state. Let me address some of your questions by restating the core ones here:
1000th-product-order, that would be AT LEAST 33 to 34 DAYS away from today?
Once we have all the part at our facility we’ll be able to speed things up by bringing in some friends to help program, assemble, quality check, pack, and ship units. When doing this one at a time it’s incredibly time consuming, but doing hundreds at time is much faster. Something like 5mins per FloJack, effectively. I estimate that we will get through 1000 orders in 10 days, once we have all the parts.
I also imagine that the “days” are probably BUSINESS DAYS?
We’ve been working around the clock, every day since last November, 2012 when our Kickstarter project got funded. We’re incredibly grateful for our backers and feel blessed that we can bring to the market something that doesn’t exist. NFC and RFID will be a massively adopted technology, there is no question. We are committed to making that happen sooner rather than later.
I’ve decided that “Half is better than none”, can I get that? Is it possible to ship FloJack without case ?
As you can imagine, this petition is a logistical nightmare. Splitting orders and/or sending out unfinished products is more time consuming and prone for trouble than doing the job right. It may take longer but at least this way we will get a consistent set of FloJacks in the field that will be easier to support. So regrettably, we will not be handling special requests like this at this time.
Richard and the Flomies.
August 24, 2013 at 9:59 am #4513Hi Richard.
All right.
I wait for the completion of FloJack.I will demonstrate with my Galaxy Nexus on Monday.
I think they say.
“What about iPhone / Pad?”
This time, I must say.
“iPhone / Pad does not support NFC.”
However, some day, I will say.
“Yes, please look at this.”Best regards

… seems things are WORSE than I anticipated. Its 7 WEEKS now, and it doesnt even SEEM like you guys are SHIPPING products …
What is your current daily production rate? Let me guess … “30 UNITS”/day … Am I right? NO? (Please show us proof that its now at “100 UNITS” like you SAID it would by now, which does NOT seem to be the case CLEARLY).
October 6, 2013 at 2:50 pm #4806Hi there Chuck,
I understand your concerns but, regarding our fulfillment, we are a small team. I personally assemble, flash and test EVERY FloJack we ship. I am one man and I try my best to get as many as possible out every day — some days way more than 30, sometimes only a few more but consistently more than 30/day.
I can assure that your order will be shipped as soon as humanly possible and I apologize for the delays. Thank you for your continued patience.
Jake
November 6, 2013 at 11:42 am #5022Richard and Flomies,
You guys are a total disappointment. I should have known that things were THIS BAD from the start, and not wasted my time. Even on realizing much later after placing my order that this product is actually not even “ready”, and you guys were having lots of fulfillment issues (and giving one reason and one excuse after another), I had thought to just go the CHARGE-BACK route (which is still an option), but then thought to just give you guys a chance.
Now you guys come back with a “Flojack Reimagined” post?? WTF??
One question I have for you guys is this: So far there’s been talk of only iOS, iOS, and iOS issues with your (now basically useless) device not working on iOS ! What about Android? You guys are responsible to Android users as much as iOS or anything else, but I dont see any post or updates that THINGS ARE FINE (or not) on the Android side of things! ON EVERY post that talks about iOS, there is supposed to be a brief “Note/Comment” to say that “Android IS (or isnt) affected”. Let us know the case/stand on the Android side of things; I want to decide NOW what I will be doing. I am truly fed-up as this has become a nuisance!
Thanks.
November 6, 2013 at 6:53 pm #5028Chuck, Android is in it’s preliminary stages but we have one directional communication working on a few devices. You can read more about this functionality from another customer that we worked with to get this going:
Received your Flojack? Willing to Sell it at a higher price?
Jake.
November 12, 2013 at 3:10 am #5054Jake,
Go ahead and process/send out my order for the existing working “Audiojack” version of the product. I’ll use them on Android in the meantime, until you guys fully figure out and complete the “flojack reimagined” update, then at that point in future I’ll decide what the next step is (i.e. swapping or what not).
I’ll expect the order within the next week. Email me the tracking once its shipped.
Thanks.
November 12, 2013 at 4:12 pm #5059Hey Chuck,
Sure thing.
Thanks,
Jake
November 20, 2013 at 2:41 pm #5095Jake, why does my order still say “On Hold”? I have given the direction/instruction to ship me the current product for now! (unlike others who are straight-up going for the BLE version.)
SO, What are my tracking number(s), and shipment status? (That was supposed to have been emailed to me within the week as expected once the product was shipped, so … I imagine its already en-route and you just forgot to change the status to “Shipped” and forgot to email me the tracking??)
November 22, 2013 at 10:18 am #5109Chuck,
I’m in the process of building and testing a large quantity of FloJacks. Yours will come from this batch.
Jake
December 3, 2013 at 6:38 pm #5193Richard, Jake,
A package arrived today with ONLY ONE device inside and ONE BATTERY. I ordered TWO units!!! (and you guys have marked my order as “Complete??” when you only send ONE out of the TWO I ordered??)
When will the second one be arriving? I only received ONE TRACKING number, where is the SECOND TRACKING number so I can track the second unit (with a “Priority Flat-Rate” shipping cost of $17.35, which is already over-priced for two small flat rate boxes, since each small-flat-rate-box is normally about $6 or $7 MAX, I imagine that each device is sent in its own box, so I’m giving Flomio a benefit of doubt that you just forgot to send me the second tracking number, and not that you would claim that you put two devices in the one box).
So, Expecting an email with my second tracking number for my SECOND UNIT!
July 29, 2014 at 8:52 am #6778Hey Richard and Jake, my thread and inquiries were never addressed since the last message I sent to you guys. Please see Tagged: (# flo10002). I pretty much waited for a YEAR (all paid up in advanced which now I think is an incorrect practise by you guys) and still not get any respectful reply and your failed promise of delivering the FloBLE. If this project is way above all your team’s skillsets and ability to produce and deliver to the market, you guys have to be totally honest with it and refund the money to customers. I didn’t place your order via kickstarter. I placed it directly in your website which in no way was I being told clearly that it was a non-existent product during the time of placing the order (or kickstarter driven to deliver kind of project). If you see my thread, I actually have a person who was working in your Flomio team telling me after placing my order I would get it after a week. I ordered the scanner and also the NFC stickers, which I really don’t believe you guys can’t ship out the NFC stickers because it is still in development when they are not even the so called innovative core part of the hardware things you guys are making. If you guys keep basing replies with one lie after another, and disregard giving me proper options like actually shipping a piece of hardware that works or refund the money back to me since you guys can’t deliver, and yet you guys still don’t own up to the problem you guys created for me and refuse to respectfully follow up with me within this week, you literally force me to make the next move which is to file a criminal report to the police, inform my lawyers, alert my credit card bank about this transaction fraud to also file an investigation, and also alert all kinds of tech media organizations like Techcrunch and all relevant people who had given public marketing exposure for your product about this incident and your business practices which includes failing to deliver and show absolutely no respect to me in following up my order (and I am sure all the people in the same situation as me with you guys will definitely voice out to the public). You have my email and contact and there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to not follow up with me and rectify the PROBLEM YOU CAUSED! I am posting this to ALL YOUR THREADS SO YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE TO NOT SEE THIS MESSAGE. I hope you understand that if you guys keep running the business like this in the dark (absolutely no weekly or monthly updates on development /shipment progress), you risk tarnishing your brand and respectability and even if you guys deliver the promised project after another 2 more years because it seems like its your hobby project funded by innocent victims like us, the product will basically be D-O-A when reached to the mainstream market regardless of how amazing it will be.
