Hi there guys,
This is Philippe from the Netherlands. I have a question; is it possible to customize the FloBLE Plus device for B2B usage? I’m looking for a solution which we could use for our clients on site (retail). What i’m looking for is a white label solution for our business. In other words, the possibility to order the device other color(s) and with other logo’s printed on.We are working on a project for in-store ecommerce sales. Shop representatives are equipped with NFC readers so they can sell “online stock” in store using the reader which is connected to an iPad running a e-commerce application. This makes it easy to sell i.e. more colors or sizes.
Do you guys created some sort of reseller program for this?
Other question: is it possible (with i.e. the SDK) to implement the reader seamlessly in our own e-commerce application? So when the shop representative scans the label of an item, the iPad app automatically switches to that item in the app. Is this possible?
Would love to hear from you so we could work something out together.
Kind regards,
Philippe

February 15, 2016 at 9:26 pm #54477Hi Phillipe, we do provide services to white label our reader hardware. Costs can vary since each product has different printing and casing finishes. For the FloBLE Plus, we provide the blank casing and a clear adhesive label to add your branding. This costs $12.50/ea in low volumes (under 100 units) and needs to be quoted for higher volumes or custom enclosure designs. Below is a custom deployment we did recently with Lilitab, our trusted partner for tablet kiosk enclosures:
No reseller program is necessary, we aim to serve B2C and B2B customers equally with a discount schedule segmented based on volume. The Flomio SDK is a native OS library and sample code for you to build your own application integrating our reader products extremely quickly. This will allow you to provide an entirely custom branded experience so when the shop representative scans an item the iPad will notify your application of the event. We are committed to provide the support you need via these forums to complete your integration effectively.

Thanks for your reply.
I understand the part of the adhesive sticker, but is it possible to get the case in a completely different color? We are looking for a sustainable custom solution which we could use for our clients.Other question; what does it do out of the box? For example, i pair it to an iPad and i have several NFC tags laying around. Does the iPad perform all the actions stored on the tags just by tapping the FloBLE on them? Or is it a ‘developer product’ which should first be implemented in an application?
Thanks in advance.
Philippe
February 16, 2016 at 7:24 pm #54486Hi Philippe, changing the case color requires a new setup of the production line which impacts our costs more severely. We would need to charge you $12.50/ea for a minimum order of 500 units or a flat fee of $6250 for quantities less than that. Due to our factory schedule please allow 6-8 weeks for production of your order to begin and 2 weeks of ramp up after that for the first 100 units to be ready for shipment. In full production we can build, test, and pack roughly 200 units/week.
The FloBLE Plus doesn’t do much out of the box. You need to build an app using our Flomio SDK to get it to do something. We offer a sample application with the SDK bundle that will read NFC tag UUIDs, which are fixed serial numbers that some tags have (NFC Forum Type 4 cards have randomly generated UUIDs that change for every scan). So for instance, you could easily build a demo in 2mins using hard-coded UUIDs so that the iPad screen would flash green when one tag is scanned and red when another tag is scanned. The Flomio SDK also allows you to read and write data onto NFC Forum Type 2 tags (likely the tags you have since they’re most common). This data can be a URL so that when you scan a tag you can launch the browser with the URL address set.
I hope that answers your questions,
Richard -
