FloBle Plus Firmware

Hi!

I just upgraded to the 2.1 beta SDK and now I can’t get my FloBle Plus to sleep/stop and start again. It says sleep isn’t available and if i do stop, i can’t start it again. I got the firmware 1.16.00.

(I need it to sleep while the iOS app is verifying the tag with our servers.)

Should i upgrade to 1.16.03, and if so, how? I use OSX. Found the FloBle user guide but it involved “10pin ribbon cables”, do that scared me off. =)

Hi Erik, your issue may indeed be related to having the 1.16.00 firmware on your unit. We can upgrade your unit for you but you will need to ship it to us since ACS doesn’t allow us to share the tools until they’re officially released. We had another customer successfully procure the upgrade tools directly from ACS… read more here. Perhaps you can try that. All the units we ship today come with FWV 1.16.03 so this won’t be a problem for future orders.

Ok! So the 18 FloBles I ordered today will have the 1.16.03?

I will send you the one with 1.16.00 when i get the 18 others and can verify that it was the problem.

I read that with the 1.16.03 the FloBle will never sleep when inactive, unless a sleep command is sent with the SDK. Have i understood this correctly? That would be great if it’s the case.

Yes, 18 units on order will have FWV 1.16.03. Yes, the low power modes in the Flomio SDK v2.1 work with the FMV 1.16.03 in order to provide several options for developers to leverage for their unique use cases. Please let us know if you run into issues using these features as they are still in beta.
