FloBLE size

Hi Flomies,

first of all I’m really happy with the status update about the FloBLE, it means that you guys are still passionate about it and working on the NFC dream.

I got a small question, how big is it, I would love to see it in combination with an iPhone or another known object in one photo so we can get an impression of the size.

The size of the ble seems large is there any way of that we can jailbreak it (eg. Move battery’s, ect.) to downsize it? I need to embed these into ipad cases & I was under the assumption that they were going to be the same size as the flojack.

It’s definitely possible to downsize the FloBLE as un essence it’s just an over-sized FloJack. Badanamu, who it sponsoring the FloBLE development, has a child use case so the larger size was geared towards avoid child safety issues. With less batteries, though, the device will not have the same operation life. So keep that in mind. The FloBLE specs are just like the FloJack’s but with increased data rates:

• Transfer to mobile device @ 16kbit/s

POWER CONSUMPTION:
• Standby (500ms interval) – 1uAs
• Poll (3ms interval) – 9.6uAs
