Hello,
Can you provide me some information on FloJack?
For example, I am aware that to write a NFC tag I would need to download an application, however do I need to have an application open to read the nfc using flojack?
Thank You
Yes, you need to have an application open and in the foreground in order to read an NFC tag with any of the FloJack devices. This is because iOS and Android do not allow the audio jack to listen or record sound when the app is not in the foreground. The reason for this is to prevent apps from snooping in on people without them knowing. The limitation therefore doesn’t let the FloJack talk to the mobile device to alert it that a tag has been read. This is not a limitation for our FloBLE line of products that use Bluetooth Low Energy. Bluetooth is allowed to interact with an app while it’s in the background.
best,
Richard
Okay I understand that for NFC we need an app to read but what about blue tooth? Does this need an application open or in the background?
Thanks
Bluetooth can operate in the background. The Flomio SDK manages both the NFC and Bluetooth connections for you.
best,
Richard
