Hi guys,
First of all, thanks a lot for developing NFC products and solutions. That’s very very positive 🙂
So, now I have a question about the Flojack Product, we are interesting to buy something like 15 pieces of that but we work with iPads with IOS7, and our next event is coming soon. So we would like to know if you have found a solution to the issue of compatibility flojack with IOS7 ?
Thanks a lot for your answers guys.
Best regards,
Arnaud Aubadie-Ladrix.
Directeur, Agence Zéto.February 19, 2014 at 12:05 pm #5736Hi Arnaud, currently the FloJack still has issues with iOS7. Scans are not consistently captured by iOS, only sometimes. We are devoting all of our engineering resources to the development of the FloBLE, which is just like the FloJack but uses the more standardized Bluetooth LE interface instead of the audio jack. The FloBLE will be ready for pre-orders in a couple weeks.
February 19, 2014 at 4:20 pm #5738Will you be providing a BLE tag also?
February 21, 2014 at 6:44 pm #5748Hi Jeff, the FloBLE reads NFC tags not BLE tags. The best way to describe the device is “a wireless NFC reader” to avoid confusion. If you want to be really technical the FloBLE is itself a BLE tag since iPhones/iPads can detect it’s presence and reacts accordingly. For that matter, *any* BLE peripheral (accessory) can function as a BLE tag.
February 23, 2014 at 1:09 am #5750Hello Flomies!
We received the original Flojack Dev Kit months ago but had iOS 7 problems. We held onto the original Flojack until now, but at this point, we would like to return it so you can replace it with the BLE version when it’s ready.
I cannot find the return program process details anywhere….would you please provide a link or outline the process for me?
Also, I need to make sure we are already on the replacement list from our original correspondence time back in November. Thanks in advance.

February 23, 2014 at 3:27 pm #5751Hi Larry, the FloBLE signup form is the first FAQ link on our home page labeled: “HOW DO I SWAP MY FLOJACK FOR A BLE-ENABLED ONE?”
We’re working to make things easier to find. For instance, the Search Site function in the upper right of every page will search our entire site. Entering “BLE” as a search term brings up the Flojack Exchange Program page as the 4th result.

February 24, 2014 at 10:13 am #5752Richard, Thanks for your reply. I’m a bit confused though; do you mean to suggest that we are not already on your list for the exchange program, and need to sign up now, putting us at the back of the line? It was my understanding that we were put on the list back in November when the iOS 7 issues first came to light.
If I misunderstand your reply in any way, please clarify that for me, because if that is the case, then as 1 of your Kickstarter backers, I’m quite unhappy and would like to speak with someone about this by phone.
Please let me know and Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Larry
February 24, 2014 at 11:19 am #5753Hi Larry, if you already asked to shift your FloJack order to FloBLE then no need to fill in the form. I thought you were asking to change your order in your original post. If what you are looking for is some confirmation that you have in fact been registered for the swap, then you can email jake at flomio dot com. We’re currently managing all this manually so I ask for your patience. We are investing all over our time in getting the FloBLE completed and manufactured at this time.
thanks,
March 26, 2014 at 12:15 pm #5900You do realized that the link to the exchange form in your post above is BROKEN, right?
Your link is broke like my FloJack!

March 26, 2014 at 12:19 pm #5904Good catch! I just fixed it. The FloBLE will address the issues FloJack has with iOS7. Thanks for your patience.
March 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm #5905Wonderful! Now if you could just get the form to WORK!
I do not get the receipt that I need to return my FloJack for an exchange.
March 26, 2014 at 1:07 pm #5906You should receive the FloBLE-for-FloJack receipt some time today as we are managing this process manually. Our staff is stretched thin with getting the FloBLE development done so we didn’t get around to automating the return workflow.
thanks for your patience. hit us back if you don’t see anything by tomorrow.
March 26, 2014 at 1:55 pm #5908Thanks! I got the email receipt.
July 1, 2014 at 9:53 pm #6194Richard, It’s been months since I asked about the swap. I’ve tried to fill out the form again, but the submit button does not work. I have not ever received a swap receipt or confirmation or anything, and frankly I’m getting frustrated. I would like to know when I will be able to swap my Flojack for the new BLE version – I have never been able to use it or the dev kit due to the iOS 7 issues, and my investment is being wasted. I would appreciate a reply with an update/advisement as to the state of my swap. My original order was in October 2012 via Kickstarter. Order #3384.
Thanks in advance.
July 1, 2014 at 9:59 pm #6195Hey Larry, I understand the frustration but we don’t have the resources to fix the swap form to be more functional. All Kickstarter orders are well recorded in our system and the swap requests come into our inboxes constantly so rest assured that your swap will be processed once we’re able to get the FloBLE into production. Thanks for your patience after so long. Despite the enormous investment on our part to make NFC more accessible we have yet to monetize much of it. This has become a problem we’re still figuring out how to correct.
thanks,
July 1, 2014 at 10:04 pm #6196Richard,
Thanks for the quick response. I do understand the investment and nature of startups – it’s a long, hard road. My frustration stems from the fact that I spoke to someone back in november / december 2012 about the iOS 7 problem, right after I got the kit. They advised of the BLE version plan, and said that my swap was documented then. The problem is that I have never received any confirmation of that or whatever you send – a receipt maybe?
I just want to know for sure that I will get my swap unit, and how to return the one I have that is collecting dust. If it takes a little longer to receive it, I understand, I just need confirmation that I’m on the list, etc.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry
July 10, 2014 at 6:55 am #6216Larry, rest assured that we have this documented. Once the FloBLE is done (can’t wait!) you will be getting one in exchange of your original order.
thanks,
RichardJuly 29, 2014 at 8:56 am #6787Hey Richard and Jake, my thread and inquiries were never addressed since the last message I sent to you guys. Please see Tagged: (# flo10002). I pretty much waited for a YEAR (all paid up in advanced which now I think is an incorrect practise by you guys) and still not get any respectful reply and your failed promise of delivering the FloBLE. If this project is way above all your team’s skillsets and ability to produce and deliver to the market, you guys have to be totally honest with it and refund the money to customers. I didn’t place your order via kickstarter. I placed it directly in your website which in no way was I being told clearly that it was a non-existent product during the time of placing the order (or kickstarter driven to deliver kind of project). If you see my thread, I actually have a person who was working in your Flomio team telling me after placing my order I would get it after a week. I ordered the scanner and also the NFC stickers, which I really don’t believe you guys can’t ship out the NFC stickers because it is still in development when they are not even the so called innovative core part of the hardware things you guys are making. If you guys keep basing replies with one lie after another, and disregard giving me proper options like actually shipping a piece of hardware that works or refund the money back to me since you guys can’t deliver, and yet you guys still don’t own up to the problem you guys created for me and refuse to respectfully follow up with me within this week, you literally force me to make the next move which is to file a criminal report to the police, inform my lawyers, alert my credit card bank about this transaction fraud to also file an investigation, and also alert all kinds of tech media organizations like Techcrunch and all relevant people who had given public marketing exposure for your product about this incident and your business practices which includes failing to deliver and show absolutely no respect to me in following up my order (and I am sure all the people in the same situation as me with you guys will definitely voice out to the public). You have my email and contact and there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to not follow up with me and rectify the PROBLEM YOU CAUSED! I am posting this to ALL YOUR THREADS SO YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE TO NOT SEE THIS MESSAGE. I hope you understand that if you guys keep running the business like this in the dark (absolutely no weekly or monthly updates on development /shipment progress), you risk tarnishing your brand and respectability and even if you guys deliver the promised project after another 2 more years because it seems like its your hobby project funded by innocent victims like us, the product will basically be D-O-A when reached to the mainstream market regardless of how amazing it will be.
