Thanks Scott. That makes sense – and in line with what we were thinking was going on. I’ll need to check with the vendor and legal to see if we can possibly ship you the card ( likely not ). I have a couple more follow ups with folks – so will see how to proceed on this.
Thanks for your help
Amit
Hi Scott
I have some more information about the vendor being used for the NFC cards. Its NXP and the spec for the card is here:
http://www.nxp.com/products/identification-and-security/smart-card-ics/mifare-ics/mifare-classic:MC_41863
Not sure if you see anything that stands out in terms of something you haven’t tested with. Let me know – it doesn’t look like I can send you the card.
Thanks
Amit
Hi Amit, the MiFare Classic is a popular IC family that has years on the market and over a billion tags in circulation using it. That said, the common Classic has a 4 byte UUID and from reading the product description from the link you shared, it seems that the Classic EV1 is now evolved to a 7 byte UUID. We have yet to see Classics with 7 byte UUIDs in our lab so that’s a cause for concern. Our team will be at NXP’s FTF conference in Austin, TX next month so perhaps we can find out more about the Classic EV1 there. However, until we have cards to test with it’s not possible for us to support them in the Flomio SDK.
Thanks for the feedback and we’ll let you know what we find out.
Richard
