Hi Flomio,
We have received the Flojacks and are now implementing the communication protocol.
Reading tags and the status commands work fine but we have trouble writing tags.
When we send a write command to the Flojack’s firmware we get an error response.
Any idea what could be the issue?Regards,
PeterMay 7, 2014 at 12:51 pm #5950Hey Peter, the FloJack firmware wasn’t fully tested before we shifted over to FloBLE development so that may be the issue. Since we don’t have the resources to support two codebases we are offering some key customers access to our source code under a development license.
If you would like me to share the FloJack firmware I will need you to first sign and return this non-disclosure agreement. It simply protects against you sharing the source with others.
Also you will need to carefully read and sign this Flomio Developer Kit licensing agreement. It delineates your rights to use the source and protects Flomio from any damages that could occur.
In order to compile the firmware you will need a Code Composer Studio v5+ license for the MSP430 microcontroller. You can get CCS here. You will also need an MSP430 JTAG Emulator to flash in and debug the firmware. You can order a JTAG emulator from here .
Finally, you will need a flex cable in order for you to flash the FloJack with the emulator. We have a limited supply so we charge $100 for each. Once you get all the other things done we can sort out how to get you a flex cable and add you as a collaborator on the Flojack firmware Github repo.
I hope that helps.
May 8, 2014 at 4:54 pm #5971Hi Richard. Thanks for the info.
We really need tag writing to work in order to complete our Flojack project.
As such, we are open to the idea of getting access to the repo to see what we can do.
Please e-mail the NDA to me. Send it to the email from my flomio.com account. Thanks,
PeterMay 11, 2014 at 5:55 pm #5974Peter, I sent you the flex and added you as a collaborator on our firmware git repo. Let me know once you get all the hardware setup and we can walk through the programming and debug process.
May 15, 2014 at 9:37 pm #5981Richard, we have received the delivery. Thanks for the prompt shipment! Also the source compiles nicely. What is the proper way to connect the jtag to the flojack ? As there are no labels, we don’t wanna fry something.
May 16, 2014 at 9:19 pm #6018Hi peter, I don’t have any pictures on my machine right now so I drew up an illustration with a picture of the Flojack PCB I did have. I hope this helps unblock you:
May 20, 2014 at 4:05 pm #6029Good news, writing tags with Flojack works now!
We tracked down the issue in the firmware.
The write delay value had to be adjusted.
Our project can now be completed.
Thanks a lot for your help, Richard! -
