Hi,
Could you please advise if I want to use a USB sound card on an INTEL Edison board (USB to AUDIO port converter)….. will this add NFC support to Edison board and does Flomio provide sufficient drivers/sdk/etc for such embedded solution?
Many thanks for help.
Hi Av, we haven’t done anything with the Intel Edison board but as a maker myself, I love the idea. I did a quick search online and it seems the Edison can support Bluetooth Low Energy through the RedBear shield. With that in mind, I would suggest the FloBLE Plus as the best reader to provide NFC reading capability to the Edison. The FloBLE Plus offers two options for you to integrate with, first is directly through USB (using PCSC interface and CCID driver) and the other is over BLE (using RedBear shield). We don’t actively support drivers/SDKs for running on an Edison but since the FloBLE Plus is based on the ACR1255U-J1 hardware, you can explore the driver options on the ACS downloads page.
best,
Richard
