Dear all,
I have one Flomio NFC device. I have a NFC tag in sleep Mode.I know the custom commands used to enable it, so my question is:
It is possible to send custom command to an NFC Tag in sleeping mode? The reader has to stay ON continuously and send these command to the Tag until the reader find it.Thanks

March 6, 2016 at 7:49 pm #54697Hello Jacopo, can you elaborate on “I have a NFC tag in sleep Mode”? What tag type and make/model chip are you using? Also which Flomio reader do you have? I don’t see that you’ve ordered any from your account.
thanks,
RichardMarch 7, 2016 at 8:52 am #54703Dear Richard,
my order #52807 was made from another account. The NFC chip is a new chip made by EM MARIN, the model is EM4424.
To force the login to the “sleeping” chip the custom command is 1B (login) FF FF (password).Do you think that is possible to send low level commands to the NFC Tag?
Thanks

From a high level the reader you purchased, FloJack MSR, supports the ISO7816 command/response protocol so if the EM4424 supports that protocol (very likely it does) then the custom command you are trying to send it should work.

you can refer to EM4423

JacopoMarch 8, 2016 at 11:36 pm #54726Hi Jacopo, as I mentioned before the FloJack MSR exposes the contactless interface through the ISO7816 protocol. The hardware handles all the ISO14443 parts 1-4 protocols internally. As indicated on page 34 of the EM4423 specification it appears as through the EM4423 adds new commands, like the LOGIN command, at the ISO14443 part 3 layer making them unavailable via the ISO7816 protocol.
We can potentially add a special command (referred to as an escape command) to specifically support this chip function but it will require flashing your reader with new firmware. Would you be willing to sponsor this custom work since it’s unique to your use case? If you can give me an estimate as to how much business this will drive, it will help get this done.

for us is not a problem to update the reader with a new firmware.
Regarding the price of the custom work and our business opportunity, could you please write us an estimated cost for the development?
If you agree we can continue in private, please write us to our account email. Thanks
JacopoMarch 9, 2016 at 2:08 pm #54739Understood, will have a member from our team PM you.
thanks,
