I note that the Android NFC Actions app supports a lot more actions than the iOS NFC Actions app. e.g. These are not available:
– Settings: Turn on/off Wifi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode.
– Light: Turn on and of your flash as a flashlight.
Is development of the iOS NFC Actions app continuing to support more features to bring them into line?
Hello Andrew, Android as an operating system is a lot more open and flexible to allow developers to create unique actions. iOS unfortunately is more limited. For instance, standard iOS doesn’t let you toggle Wifi on/off or any of the other wireless interfaces you mentioned. Turning on the LED light is feasible since you can trick iOS to think you’re taking a picture to turn on the light but since the iPad doesn’t include a flash we didn’t implement that feature (most of our customers want to use FloJack with iPads).
