Tagged: IFTTT iOS
I have been able to set up IFTTT to trigger an event using webhook and the Nfc Actions app. However, this seems restricted to only one event. The guidance says one can use the UID of the NFC sticker as the IFTTT event name to run multiple events, but iOS does not read the UID. The event will only run if I enter the IFTTT event name in the Nfc Actions app exactly as I enter it in IFTTT, and this even has to be case specific. There is place for only one event name in the Nfc Actions app. Is there indeed a way to use different NFC stickers to run different events through IFTTT, or is the information in the app and website incorrect?
Hi Daniel,
You’re correct, our Docs should have been updated to reflect that iOS NFC reading does not read the UID of tags, this feature is only available when using our range of NFC readers connected via BLE (FloBLE Plus & FloBLE Noir).
Unfortunately Apple don’t allow developers to read tags UIDs using the phone’s native NFC reader.
Sorry if this has caused much pain on your end, we’ll update the docs to reflect your issue to prevent others that may have the same expectation. If Apple allow reading tag UIDs in the future, we’ll definitely add it to NFC Actions.
Scott
