Until iOS 8’s sdk has been nfc enabled, I’m looking for a third-party device that will allow my iPhone 6 plus to take take instruction from programmed nfc tags around my house. Do any of Flomio’s products fit the bill for this? The image of the Flojack on Flomio’s “shop” page looks identical to the card swipe reader further down. While the description seems to be what I’m lookong for, I won’t be swiping cards so that’s a bit big. I’d love to purchase something smaller like the round Flojack device I’ve seen everywhere but here.
Hi, the original FloJack (v1) is no longer being sold as we’ve upgraded to a newer more capable v2. The size may be larger but it’s not because of the swiper. The size of the original FloJack (v1) antenna was not sufficient to read the wide variety of NFC tags being sold on the market. The newer FloJack (v2) has a larger antenna size improving it’s read/write performance with larger NFC tags. We currently sell units with the swiper because the price from the factory without the swiper if the same. So you get the swiper for free.
It’s worth mentioning that the iPhone6 will never be NFC read/write capable. This is a discussion that I explain in detail here. The FloJack (v2) is currently the best option on the market today to add this functionality to the iPnone6.
