Dear Sir or Madam
This is Jeff sourcing manager of PointRF System PLC. Hope my email finds you well.
We have a device, Lenovo Tab 3
which antenna we would like to extend
because NFC antenna is on the back lid, and we need it to be accessible when the device is on the wall.
We prefer some sticker rather than anything connected to the input
preferably no intrusion to the device casingWe are interested in hardware for extending our NFC capacity of the device.
Preferences:
– Patch to the device surface with the extended reader to be able to position NFC reader in any place on the wall next to the device (currently, NFC reader is on the back). Patch option is preferred since it doesn’t require any code change for application or driver development. Something like your https://flomio.com/shop/readers/nfc-antenna/
– Less preferred, but possible alternatives: wire connected readers and/or Bluetooth paired reader.Compatibility:
Tablet device: Lenovo Tab3 10″Requirements for antenna:
– Should recognize the tag from the distance
– Should be easy wall-mounted
– Preferably shouldn’t require wire connection to the device and special drivers to work with
– Should be reliably connected to the device, and with minimum device intrusion (no lid opening)
– Should be available for easy ordering and delivering to US (not custom),
– Shouldn’t disappear from the market for some time (e.g. 1-year forecast to be available for ordering)
– Affordable priceWould you please kindly let me know if you have something can meet our requirements.
Would you like to add my Skype if you like an instant chat?
Look forward hear from you soon.
Kind regards,
Jeff
PointRF System PLCAugust 19, 2017 at 8:13 pm #60710Hi Jeff, we can help with your request. The NFC Patch Kit is what you are looking for and you can order them on our website here. The product is composed of a patch and antenna. The patch adheres to the back of your device and the antenna tethers out from there to allow NFC tags to be scanned in front or to the side of a wall mounted device.
The current NFC Patch Kit product has a 64mm x 56mm patch that couples with a host device. This should work but may deliver suboptimal performance for your device since it was originally designed for the Nexus 7 (2013). The fee to customize the product for a new device like the Lenovo Tab 10″ is roughly $3000 and require a 6 week lead time to produce. Base price on production units will be $80/ea and bulk price will follow these discount tiers:
Buy 5 save 7% = $74.40
Buy 10 save 10% = $72.00
Buy 25 save 19% = $64.80
Buy 50 save 25% = $60.00
Buy 100 save 31% = $55.20
Buy 200 save 40% = $48.00
Buy 500 save 52% = $38.40Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply.
Would you please confirm that your reader supports NFC standard: ISO/IEC 15693.
Kind regards,
Jeff
August 22, 2017 at 8:48 am #60742Hi Jeff, of all the readers we sell only the FloBLE Mini supports ISO/IEC 15693. Given that the FloBLE Mini is not in production yet, this is only a proof of concept option. Best to go with an Android NFC handset if you need something already in production.
best,
Richard -
