Since the FloBLE is using BLE, it should be possible to use it with OS-X Mavericks. Is there already support for OS-X Mavericks on the roadmap?
If not, what would be needed to get it on the roadmap? I can imagine that it would be a great addition for a Mac based POS system to scan loyalty cards, like for example Buzzoek (http://buzzoek.com/?lang=en) is doing.
The FloBLE is intended to work on any platform that is Bluetooth4.0 Smart capable. Preparing the SDK for each of these platforms is much simpler that it was for the FloJack because all the data modulation is taken care of by the standard Bluetooth stack. We just need to port the Flomio Messaging Protocol and the spec is documented enough so that any programmer can do it, if necessary.
Right now we’re focusing on finishing the FloBLE firmware to support all the protocol commands. Once we get that done we’ll be able to start pumping out different SDKs.
