Home › Forums › Ask the Flomies › OT: Best Android tablet for NFC Kiosk?
Hi all,
Not specifically Flomio-related, but I gather that folks here are heavily involved in kiosks and NFC. I have built an Android NFC tablet app on a Nexus 10, but discovered that it cannot simultaneously charge while serving as an OTG host device.
After much Googling, I believe my options are as follows:
1) Nexus 7 with the Timur Kernel
2) Samsung Galaxy Tab with a Lava Simulcharge adapter + external ACS NFC reader
3) Switch to Raspberry Pi or iOS or find a kiosk manufacturer (any recommendations?)
4) Other (?)
What have people had the best luck with? I was also told no Android tablets are stable enough to operate in the wild as a kiosk with the screen on 24/7, but am wondering if people have had different experiences.
Thanks!
