Hi Guys,
I have a problem with NFC Kiosk.
So, when we want to post picture (and text) on Facebook or send the picture (and text) by email with the NFC Kiosk app, it doesn’t work.
I explain the problem : we created the app and we follow step by step your explications on your video. We create event, we create the app, etc.
And the person log in on Facebook or by email, we take the picture, we scan the tag, we can read the message “picture was successfully post” but when we look the Facebook page of the person we can’t see the post. And it is the same problem with the email registration, the persone doesn’t receive the email with the picture. Could you help me?

I hope that you are find. So what about development of NFC Kiosk? Maybe have you other same solutions that you could make connected events. We would like to give the opportunity to the customers who are on our event to post photos on Facebook, Twitter and other social media. Do you find solutions or NFC Kiosk is dead?

October 30, 2014 at 12:04 am #24338Hey Arnaud, Kiosk development has been at a standstill as we’re focusing on getting our latest hardware products shipped and supported. We have learned recently from another Kiosk customer that the Facebook developer rules have changed and new apps will be held to a stricter approval process. This approval process is much like Apple’s app approval process and can take as long as a week to process. This might be the reason why you’re experiencing issues with the solution not working for you. We’ll be monitoring this thread and post any updates as soon as we’re able to get back to this.
October 30, 2014 at 8:50 am #24410I been playing whit NFC kiosk about 2 month now. I bought a nexus tablet, a NFC reader and 5 cards with the idea of make this run.
Once I had it all, I installed and everythig it seems to be working fine, the codes and facebook accounts associate right, if I take a picture it worked great, but…… nothing appears on Facebook, no post, no pinture, no nothing.
I realize that the video from flomio that explain the use whit NFC Kiosk, was very different form the actual screens that you see on facebook. So I start reading about the differences on the facebook’s new API, and I found that now you have to explicit ask for “publish_action” if you want to post or upload a pic on someone´s wall.
When you start and app now, you only have the basic permission that is the public_profile, there for you are not allowed to post anything with flomio.
I apply for publish_actions. It was very hard to get it but finally did. I thought that if I had this, NFC Kiosk will work fine, but it didn’t. It seems that the way you work with the new api and make the calls is deferent from the old api and that’s why is not working for anyone.
Today flomio´s facebook app, I mean the one you used on the “how to video”, is still working because it was built on 1.0 API, but this will end on December 25, because facebook will automatically upgrade all apps to the 2.0 API, and of core it will stop working to.

If there a way that you can upgrade the api calls on NFC kiosk to the new API, that will be great. If there’s a way a can help giving you more information about my research, I’ll be more that glad to do it.

Muchas gracias Michael de Chile por sus explicaciones.. And I found the same problem and the same explications.
But I have an event before christmas so I could make the event before the upgrade of the Facebook Apps. But now the problem is that we can’t create a new event on flomio account.. Could you give us a solution before the 10th of December?

December 3, 2014 at 10:12 am #30931Hey Arnaud, the problem is that we upgraded our servers to WordPress 4.0 and Woocommerce 2.2.8 and it broke a lot of the NFC Kiosk functions. These upgrades were necessary for other business functions and we can’t downgrade. We’re heavily understaffed at the moment and I don’t have an estimate of when this functionality will be restored. It’s not likely that this will happen before December 10th I’m afraid.
Will post updates here going forward.
