Good morning, to whom it may concern,
We are currently playing with the idea of embedding RFID tags inside our products currently rubber / plastic components. In theory I’m interested to embed these inside 3D printed components which we are designing and printing inhouse. Looking at your website I see that you are doing this already but as a service, do you provide RFID tags as to purchase or such use ? Do you have RFIDs that withstanding high temperature ?
Hi Ivan, it depends on the RFID technology you’re interested in. In the ecosystem there are Low Frequency (LF, 125kHz), High Frequency (HF, 13.56MHz), and Ultra-High Frequency (UHF, 800Mhz-900MHz) technologies to consider. We only support HF and UHF technologies. HF tags are also known as NFC tags and are readable at short ranges (under 1in) with sub-$100 mobile phone accessories. UHF tags are readable at distances of up to 25ft but require $500+ reader infrastructure to work.
If you can give me an idea of the dimensions of the part you’re trying to embed the tags into as well as how you plan on reading the tags, I can provide more insight.
thanks,
Richard
