Hi! We had a very successful event using the FloBLE and iPhones this weekend, doing NFC entrance scanning and selling drink tickets in the bar for 2000 people. Everything worked fine except for one thing:
The FloBLE and iPhones lost contact sporadically. This is something that haven’t happened in testing for us but i happend i reality and thats what counts. =) We solved it quite easily by just restarting app and FloBLE. It happened maybe 1-2 times per device on a 8 hour window of usage. Enough to be a pain for the bartenders.
I use the 1.16.03 firmware and the 2.1 PRO Beta SDK. The FloBLE stopped reading tags and the app couldn’t reconnect to it, felt like to FloBLE freezed. The wake button on the side didn’t help. Only restart of both app and FloBLE solved it.
We did over 6000 scans that night with 19 different devices. Do you know what could be causing this? Is there any new functionality in the newer SDKs solving these kind of issues?
Erik, good feedback. We have recently released Flomio SDK v2.2 in beta and have addressed a few issues that might resolve your “FloBLE freezed” problem. Please check this thread for further insight into what may be happening.
