Hi,
I’m trying to complete personalization on a Mifare Plus chip. I successfully used the “Write Perso” and “Commit Perso” commands to get it to transition to Security Level 1. However, now I can’t figure out how to put it into Security Level 3 (by authenticating with the SL3 Switch Key).
The Mifare docs state that the card must be put into ISO14443-4 mode before I can do the authentication flow. But the reader appears to be responding as if the card isn’t 14443-4 capable (for instance, the APDU for reading the ATS, “ff ca 01 00 00”, gives me back the error code “6a 81” meaning “not supported”).
Do you know what I need to do with the reader, to get the Mifare Plus card into ISO14443-4 mode so I can switch it to SL3?
Thanks!
Hi Benjamin, the ACR1255U will automatically graduate the connection to ISO7816 protocol. If you want to activate a particular ISO14443 layer (eg ISO-DEP), then you will need to setup a transparent PCSC session. More details on how this is done on this thread.
best,
Richard
Whoops, I forgot to close the loop on this but the transparent PCSC session did the trick. Thanks so much!
