Tagged: DMC-GX7, FloJack, Wifi Handover Message
Just curious I am purchasing the PANASONIC DMC-GX7 camera which has both Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity and am wondering if the Flojack would be compatible with this camera.
Thanks
Hi Sandra, the Flojack is capable of sending over an NFC Forum standard Wifi Handover message. However the Flojack SDKs don’t support this message yet. We are still adding in all the NFC Forum messages to enable all the functions that NFC can do.
Nevertheless, it’s important to note that iOS devices don’t allow applications to control network settings or access configuration data from them. So even if the Flojack could send over the proper handover message to tell your Panasonic DMC-GX7 to join a hotspot network that your iPhone has setup, it would be impossible for the iPhone app to gather that data to be sent.
Android, on the other hand, does support this network configuration gathering. So once we add support for the NFC Handover message to the Flojack Android SDK, developers will be able to create an app that tells the Flojack the right handover message to tell the Panasonic DMC-GX7 what hotspot to join for picture exchange.

I believed as long as it is NFC capable, they can transmit data to each other. You just have to configure the settings.
