The FloBLE Plus (ACR1255U-J1) can encounter issues with maintaining Bluetooth connectivity when plugged into USB power. This can be resolved by updating the RF parameters of the reader. To do so follow the procedure below. You will need:
- An Android 5.0+ phone/tablet with BLE capability.
- This BTDemo.apk application. Install by clicking the link to download and emailing to your Android device.
- FloBLE Plus (ACR1255U-J1) device exhibiting connectivity issues when plugged into USB power.
1Open BTDemo
2Connection Status will change to Connected.
3Authenticate
Scroll down. Click Authenticate and you will authentication success.
4Enter Escape command
In Escape command field, type E0 00 00 2F 00
5Click Transmit Escape Command
6Review Escape Response
You can see the response. Check if it is E1 00 00 00 13 0E C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 3F 3F. (the result below is negative)
7Modify the RF setting
In Escape command, type E0 00 00 2F 13 0E C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 3F 3F.
8 Review Escape Response again.
You can see the response is E1 00 00 00 13 0E C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 C5 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 3F 3F now.
9BLE Connection should be fixed now.
Connect USB power and try connecting to reader and scanning for tags to make sure the fix worked. If issues encountered please post them on the Forums and we’ll have a look.
