Hi,

I am in need of some NFC-related assistance, but I think it’s largely NON-Flomio in nature.

Before I lay down $450, could I do a quick ~$50 “discovery” session, to see if I require the full $450 support?

Quick preview: I am about to have access to a Desko Penta scanner and am trying to understand if/how the device can be setup to exchange VAS data with an Apple Wallet pass.

Hi Dan, unfortunately it’s not worth setting up for such a small amount (entropy argument). If the Desko Penta scanner supports ISO7816 then it’s very likely we will be able to set it up for you.

Understood on the entropy argument, but I’m not clear on what you mean by “we will be able to get the [Desko Penta scanner] set up for [me]” —- what do you means to convey with “set up”?

Any NFC reader that supports ISO7816 will be able to perform the VAS exchange to recognize an Apple Wallet pass. In order to do so you need to setup the VAS sequence on that NFC reader. So that’s what I meant we can do for you on the Desko Penta scanner since we’ve already done it several times for our readers.

Thank you for the clarification.

The Penta Scanner does support ISO7816, so I will see what I need to do as far as sharing the Desko documentation / SDK, as Desko had me sign an NDA which would currently prevent me from sharing.

I’ll follow up shortly.

Hi Dan, you can send to info at flomio dot com but in order for us to formerly engage offline you will need to purchase a Flomio Service package. Any effort -development or otherwise- to address your needs will be deducted from the service credit so you don’t need to fear that anything will be wasted.
