Just received my FloJack reader and I am unable to get the my new reader to read tags through the NFCactions app…
I have tried multiple types of NFC tags/cards against multiple ipad and iphone devices in both Read Tag and Inspect Tag… Not sure if the product is defective or I am just doing something wrong.
Please advise…November 17, 2015 at 2:28 pm #53848Dear Eric,
Currently we are working in a new version of NFC Actions in the meantime we have the iOS SDK, with it you can develop your own app, in the .zip file you’ll find all the libraries and a readmefile with installation instructions.

Let me know if you have any other question.
Sincerely,
Boris.

November 17, 2015 at 3:55 pm #53850We can also include you in the testing process with TestFlight, just let us know you apple Id email and we’ll send you an invite.
November 17, 2015 at 4:10 pm #53851You should have received an invitation by now.
Boris.
November 17, 2015 at 4:45 pm #53852Here are a set of instructions that will be useful:
After subscribing to basic plug and play SDK, how do I retrieve tag data?
November 18, 2015 at 1:06 pm #53856Eric, take note that it’s more effective to reply via the Forum as opposed to email. I just sent you an upgraded version of the SDK Sample app v1.7 via TestFlight. Boris, made the mistake of sending you the old app v1.6 which doesn’t have the menu described in the instructions he linked to above. Try the updated version and run through the steps again. Let us know if you still have issues.
thanks,
RichardNovember 18, 2015 at 3:06 pm #53857Yes I am still having problems… nothing is reading…. tried multiple nfc tags which all work as expected on Android ….
I am growing more convinced that the unit is defective…. please advise on the process to return for a new one.November 18, 2015 at 3:53 pm #53858Another thing to check is that the unit is fully charged. Plug in the mini USB cable that came with the unit and make sure that the LED turn Red signifying that its beginning to charge and momentarily turns off indicating that it’s acheived full charge. If you witness this behavior and the unit still fails to wake up with the SDK Sample app then follow these instructions here and report back what you device ID is fus to check our backend.
Thanks,
RichardNovember 18, 2015 at 4:12 pm #53859Using the MobileMate app…
Reader ID E8 69 D9 52 00 FD 29 24PS the magnetic card reader was able to read data… but even on this app the NFC reader was not operating.
November 19, 2015 at 4:25 pm #53866Hello Eric,
Can you please verify that you are pluging the flojack after you select the ‘flojack’ option on the main menu?
Thanks,
Boris.
November 19, 2015 at 4:33 pm #53867Does’t the Green LED turn on when you plug in the FloJack after selecting “FloJack” in the launch menu? Does the Green LED stay on for longer than 30secs while on this screen?
The behavior you’re describing doesn’t match how the product works both from a hardware standpoint and software standpoint. Given that the MobileMate app has given you the Device ID successfully, it means that you’re talking over the audio jack interface properly. So the only problem is that either the NFC interface is failing or the SDK app is failing on your device for some reason. Please indicate what iOS device you’re using to test and what version of iOS you have installed.
thanks,
RichardNovember 19, 2015 at 5:50 pm #53868Hi Eric, I understand you’re frustrated and believe the product you have is defective but we’re still not convinced of that. Let me elaborate. The FloJack reader needs to be instructed to scan for tags in order for it to effectively find any. That’s what the Flomio SDK app does that the MobileMate app does not. That’s the reason the MobileMate app doesn’t appear to scan for tags. If you’d like to test the ability to interrogate tags from the MobileMate app you can read details of how to do so on this thread.
If you want to return the FloJack we have no issue with sending you another. Given the quality control process we have in place and the hundreds of readers we have actively operating in the field, it’s more likely your issue is not hardware related. Follow the return instructions included at the bottom of your packing slip. Expect the RMA process to take anywhere from 3-5 business days from the moment we receive your unit back.
Best,

RichardFebruary 1, 2016 at 10:29 am #54322We cannot even read our tags using the Flomio App, before we even start looking at any SDK, I need to understand if it works at all.
February 1, 2016 at 11:00 am #54323As indicated in my response above, we’re still working on a new version of the NFC Actions app that works with our latest hardware. If you’d like to beta test this application you can send us your Apple ID and we can send you a version via TestFlight.
thanks,
Richard -
