Dear Flomies,
we would like to read our Mifare Classic Chips using iPHones and Flojack attached:
The tags on the chips are non-NDEF formatted and my question to you is, if this is possible with Flojack.
Can this product read any tag from the Mifare Classic and Mifare DESfire even if it is not NDEF? We also need to read the serialnumber (Uid) from the chip. Is that also possible with FLojack?
Thanks for your support and best regards
Thorsten
Hi Thorsten,
Reading tag data with FloJacks is not recommended because it is less reliable than our BLE readers though it is performs well when just reading the tag Uid. I highly recommend using a FloBLE Plus if reading tag data.
We expose methods to send APDUs to read non NDEF formatted data from tags which you can implement yourself but it requires a bit of knowledge about what commands to use. This is a handy beginners guide if you decide to go that route.
Summary:
FloJacks are perform well reading tag Uids
FloBLE works well if reading more tag data along with the Uid
Scott
Hi Scott,
thanks for your answer and the link to the document! We will discuss internally how to proceed. So its good to know that FloBLE Plus would be the right product.
Best regards
Thorsten
