Good Afternoon,
I recently purchased a FloBLE Plus : NFC reader w/ SDK for Mobile with the specific intent of having the device communicate with a C# application running on a Windows machine (either Bluetooth or USB connected). I’ve spoken with Richard and it looks like the reader is interacted with using node.js and runs in Chrome – is there any sample code to get started, like the web interface that would run on a client? From there we will figure out how to interact with it. The SDKs provided are only focused on the Android / iOS side of things in terms of interaction. The end goal is to use NFC to communicate payment info between a mobile phone and a C# written point-of-sale.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Carnival Cruise LineJune 1, 2017 at 2:52 pm #59984Hi Robert, when you speak of Chrome, I believe you are referring to our
in development
dashboard that enables connecting the reader to Chrome via web bluetooth. We’re still a ways away from releasing a JavaScript version of our Flomio SDK, though we have had others interested in licensing it. As a small firm with very limited manpower, we need to be careful with our time and are focused on select consultancy projects and completing our SaaS product (mentioned above), while minimizing our support burden.
Depending on how many readers you require, and when you need to be operational
by, we could license the JavaScript SDK to you or you could wait until our SaaS is
up and running. In any case, sometime soon (hopefully in the next week), we plan to have the web interface available for use, and you’ll be able to integrate with tags and mobile phones from a Chrome browser.Getting our SDK to work with C# will require a full port. We would need to charge you Flomio Service hours for that effort. If you can run on Node.js, that would be best since since we’re fully behind our Javascript SDK development. efforts.
best,

I think having the JavaScript SDK available would help – but as you are pretty close to a web interface we may be able to figure out a way to make that work. I’d be willing to take a look at your SaaS when it’s ready to make the determination. When that is available will it be posted on the website?

June 1, 2017 at 10:28 pm #59991Hi Robert,
To be clear, only the web dashboard (with ability to send commands to tags/readers etc) will be available in the coming week, not the SaaS (edit: platform/api useful to build your own app) we mentioned. When that’s ready depends upon finding space in between other demands on our time. We will keep everyone in the loop 🙂
What was the timeline for your project?
Cheers.
June 2, 2017 at 3:24 pm #60005We’d like to be able to prototype something in the next 2 months. We would be looking to go live with something more like November 2017. In a nutshell – we want to replicate the functionality that you have linked from your site that Walgreens is doing. We currently have Verifone devices at a lot of our POS terminals and we are also looking there. However, there are times when we want a cheaper alternative which is where Flomio would come in. I’m definitely interested in looking at the web dashboard.
