Hi Team.
I bought one flomio reader and another OEM reader, i received SDK for the flomio reader which worked well. but when i try to use the OEM reader with the same application, its showing message as follwos..
Serial Number: RR330-004101
Have Response, unregistered
The device is not licensed. http://flomio.com/flojack/#getting_device_idrequesting you to support to get this integration done. also let me know the possibility of using the SDK with the OEM devices sourced locally.
September 13, 2017 at 4:46 pm #60987Hi Alfred, this is a common question/concern from our customers… I actually had a discussion about it on Facebook chat with a customer earlier today. For simplicity, I’m copy/pasting the chat history here for you to grasp where we’re coming from. Let me know if you still have questions after reading through it.
Flomio
how many customers do you estimate will be using your solution within the next 2 years?Customer
I truely have no idea if it will be a 100 or a 1000 as yetFlomio
ok, that gives me some context
ACS is the manufacturer of the ACR1255U-J1.. you’re familiar with them, correct?
acs.com.hkCustomer
Yes indeedFlomio
ok, we are a distribution partner of thiers
they don’t have interest or resources to support small enterprises or individual developers. they focus on large enterprises and work with us to deal with the small players
the ACS SDK is rudimentary… a large enterprise with engineering resources can afford to build solutions with it.. but small players usually give up trying
that’s why we built the Flomio SDK on top of the ACS SDK
We charge $24 for a single license of the Flomio SDK but if you’re purchasing in bulk then we can offer better pricing
so you have two options, 1) tell your customers to purchase FloBLE Plus units from us (ACR1255U with Flomio SDK) or 2) purchase licenses in bulk and allow any ACR1255UCustomer
Option two would be the quickest route to my customers getting a working device as there are a number of dists for the acr here already. The license i bought for $24 allows the device to connect but doesnt detect the tags where as the floble the dev brought feom you works. Does anything different need to be done in code for stock devices?Flomio
what the serial num of the device you purchased that doesn’t work?Customer
It now connects with the ios phone which it didnt do last week bit no takes recognised
Tags not takesFlomio
that reader is registered, so the issue is unrelated to the SDK license
do you have with you a device that does work with your app?Customer
So this device should work exactly as if i bought a floble?
Only the floble that the dev bought from you directly
That works…… in indiaFlomio
hmm… I suspect that the india setup is different than yours somehowCustomer
Im using a 5s and they a 5seFlomio
hmm.. no such thing as 5se… you mean iPhone SE?Customer
Sorry typo yesFlomio
ok, both running same version of iOS?Customer
10.3.3 yesFlomio
where did you buy the ACR1255U you have from?Customer
I would have to look it up uk supplier online about 3/4months ago
Its got fw 1.15.01Flomio
ok, that explains it. you need to update the firmware to the latest released from ACS
1.16.03Customer
I have tried googling and didnt have much luckFlomio
use this:
<a href=”https://flomio.com/ACR1255U-J1-FlashTool/”>https://flomio.com/ACR1255U-J1-FlashTool/</a>Customer
You are a star thank you. Ok so if this gets it working i can come back and discuss licensing….. i guess no tax exemption for uk salesFlomio
we will work with you to make this a win / win for both our businesses. NFC is no joke and supporting customers like yourself is what I founded Flomio to do. We need to keep the lights on so we can keep doing it but also need success stories like yours to keep the tech relevant in the market.best,
