Glad to heard that PassNinjia could generate NFC passes into Apple Wallet.
At present,we use MiFare cards functioned as access cards. We want to add the simulated cards(required same numbers) into Apple Wallet, in this case, our members might unlock with their phone and go cardless. Meanwhile, we don’t want to change or escalate our door readers.
Could you help us clarify that is it possible to implement via PassNinja without

Is it possible to edit the “message” field in pass.json, and write MiFare card id for example? Because at every scan nfc pass(Apple Wallet), device generate new nfc-tag id and, sure, it is impossible to identify the user.

December 3, 2018 at 12:00 pm #64463Hey guys, while it is possible to store the any piece of information (up to 64bytes) in the message field of a pass you will still need to update your door readers firmware to read this field. This is because the Apple and Google Wallets are configured to only respond to GSMA’s Value Added Service (VAS) protocol which is not commonly implemented in door access readers. We have implemented this protocol in our FloBLE Plus reader and support it through to any onprem or cloud backend. We are currently conducting live demos of our PassNinja solution with different use case embodiments. If your interested to learn more you can schedule a demo here.

@Phil All HID readers that support ISO14443 and ISO7816 standards will support the GSMA VAS protocol.

December 6, 2018 at 7:07 pm #64486Availability of PassNinja? It’s available as a beta kit now. In order to get it to work on a ISO14443+ISO7816 capable reader of your choice, we would need you to cover the NRE cost and provide a sample reader to do this work.
December 6, 2018 at 8:37 pm #64487No I mean the ability to send custom NFC message field to HID NFC Reader. This use WIEGAND output to the central controller to the unlock the door.
End result is that users can store their HID NFC tag in their iOS wallet.
December 6, 2018 at 11:16 pm #64488@Phil, yes we can definitely create passes with custom NFC message content. This can be verified in the PassNinja demo. Validating these passes from an HID NFC reader across a slow WIEGAND interface (500 buad?) may be a challenge given the certification requirements from Apple/Google. This is something that will require detailed study before I can confirm it will work as you intend.

We’ve already tried the existing simulated card in Phone Wallet and it can be activated successfully when touching our door readers (HID). Probably the readers have been implemented with GSMA’s VAS protocol, so we think it might not become a barrier for us.
